Business Whirl: Londoño-McConnell part of health blog

Athens psychologist, Dr. Angela Londoño-McConnell, now is a contributor for a new blog sponsored by the American Psychological Association.

The blog, www.yourmindyourbody.org, provides readers with information to help them and their families lead healthier lives. The American Psychological Association hopes to keep the blog informative, interesting and entertaining.

Londoño-McConnell has been asked to contribute entries in the area of relationship enhancement. Other topics on Your Mind, Your Body include aging, parenting, stress, substance abuse and work/life balance.

Obasi on psychology journal board

University of Georgia counseling psychology professor Ezemenari Obasi has been appointed to serve on the editorial board of the Journal of Counseling Psychology.

Obasi, an assistant professor in the College of Education’s department of counseling and human development services, also has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Black Psychology, Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Minority Psychology, and Training and Education in Professional Psychology.

Prior to joining the UGA faculty, Obasi spent three years on the faculty at Southern Illinois University. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at Harvard Medical School: McLean Hospital. He earned his Ph.D. in psychology from The Ohio State University in 2005.

Cramer honored at convention

Paul Cramer, executive director of the Classic Center, was named a Destination Champion at the Destination Marketing Association International convention held at the end of July in Atlanta. Cramer was recognized in the social responsibility category for his commitment to workforce development initiatives in the Athens area.

As one of the founding members of the Athens Hospitality Careers Panel and the Athens Hospitality Resource Panel, Cramer was the driving force behind creating the Hospitality Careers Academy, a partnership with the Ritz-Carlton at Reynolds Plantation, where each summer high school students spend a week learning about the hospitality ind
